| Coastal Path
May 5th 2012 will see the official opening of the All Wales Coastal Path, with a claim that this is a world first. There could be an opportunity for Clwb Dringo to participate in this by walking part of the route. If this is the case there will be more information in the March newsletter. By linking this route with the Offa's Dyke path it will be possible to complete a circumnavigation of Wales on long distance paths. On a personal note I think it is a shame that more was not done to push through a path that keeps to the coast rather than, as in many places, linking existing public paths that often loop a long way inland.
New Climbing Wall
We have received publicity about a new wall that has been built in Harlech, close to the swimming pool. Informal weekly visits are being discussed, if you are interested contact Rob Piercy.
A Weekend in the Peak District.
This is proposed for some time in the early summer Trefor Owen is investigating bunkhouse accommodation in the area. If you are interested mention it to Trefor or a member of the committee.
Best Wishes
We all thought that Avis had sprained her ankle on the descent from Arenig Fawr on a recent meet. As she managed to limp back to the cars at the end of the walk, we were shocked to learn later that she had broken it. All the more galling for Avis as she was out on her first meet after recovering from a cataract operation. We can only offer our sympathies and hopes for a speedy recovery.
Next Item
Not unconnected with the above! The committee felt that it would be a good idea to have a first aid refresher course at some time and it was agreed that we might try and arrange something in the autumn.
Membership
Have to remind you that subs for 2012 are now due and should be paid to our treasurer, Dafydd Hughes, Bryn Ffynnon, Cae Rhys, Cricieth. LL52 OAW. They remain at £5-00 for another year. As this modest sum covers our outgoings there seems to be no need to put them up. It helps us to keep our records up to date if you would return the enclosed membership form when you pay.
How you receive this newsletter
For some time now Rob Piercy has been posting the contents of each newsletter on the club website, www.clwbdnngo.org.uk. To print the web page just right click then press print. He also emailed all the membership (those with email addresses) with the last quarters programme. Following on from that he received several replies stating that they were prepared to receive the newsletter via email only, this would lessen the work load of the editor considerably and speed up distribution. We would be interested to hear from members who are happy to receive an electronic newsletter.
Changes at the top!
On looking back I find to my surprise that I have been editing this newsletter for over ten years and feel that it is now time for someone else to take up the reins. Also it is possible that I will be away for three of the four committee meetings in the coming year so someone else would have to da it any way!
