Cawsom le parcio cyfleus wrth y ciosg coch ar y ffordd i fyny o Bontddu. Dilyn y llwybr o’r maes parcio i gyfeiriad chwarel aur Clogau a rhyfeddu ar y lliwiau euraidd hydrefol o’n cwmpas wrth deithio drosodd i Cwm Mynach. YGarn a’r Garn Fach i’w gweld ar draws y dyffryn oherwydd y torri coed diweddar. Dilyn trac y goedwig a wedyn y llwybr mango i fyny at y chwarel sydd bron ar y copa. Yr haul yn diflannu i’r niwl wrth i ni gyrraedd y wal sy’n arwain at y copa. Dilyn y wal wedyn tan i ni fynd heibio Llyn Bodlyn oddi tanom a thorri lawr yr ochr cyn ymuno a lôn porthmyn Pont Scethin. Dilyn traed y porthmyn yr holl ffordd yn ôl i’r ceir.

Turning up in Bontddu, we parked by the red public kiosk. The path started NE towards Clogau gold mine and autumn gold was all around us as we progressed over to Cwm Mynach. Recent logging enabled us to see over onto Y Garn and Garn Fach before reaching the forest track that we then followed until we reached the start of the manganese trail that led us nearly to the top of Diffwys. The sun shone until we reached the wall that led us into the mist as we approached the summit. We faithfully followed the wall until we were well past Llyn Bodlyn below us and cut across the slope to join the Pont Scethin drovers/stagecoach path leading down to the start of the road that led us back to the cars. There was time for Gerallt to take us down to the river to see if we could find any gold in the mine entrance but to no avail. There was no trouble in finding liquid gold in Spooners
