Manylion y daith/Meet details
This was an alternative walk to the one planned in the newsletter. I felt that walking from Capel to the summit of Glyder Fach in the teeth of a 50 mph gale was akin to lying in a bath of cold water for four hours. Mind you it would have been fun to see GP set up his tripod on the summit of G.F for the pheam toto.

The alternative was an excursion along the cymoedd of Nant Ffrancon. Cwm Graianog, Cwm Perfedd, Cwm Bual, Cwm Coch, Cwm Cywion and a brief flirtation with Cwm Idwal.
The start from Tai Newyddion (on the old Nant Ffrancon road) began with an extremely steep climb up into Cwm Graianog where we were welcomed with rain and strong gusts. Luckily this was the only time when the wind and rain bothered us. This slight elemental distraction was worth it if only to see Dewi Jones sport a rather jaunty sowester (see the photographs) He didn’t look quite so suave later when he slid humiliatingly down a grassy slope.
We continued climbing up to the grassy ridge, which drops down from Bwlch Brecan. From there onwards it was mostly a case of contouring from one cwm to the next, following a combination of good paths, vague paths or, no paths! The views however towards the Glyder and Tryfan were nothing short of spectacular.
The problem with an A to B walk is how to get back to A? Luckily for us we timed it so that we were able to catch the 3.30 bus back down to Tyn y Maes, saving us an hours walk.
The party then retired to Bryn Tyrch for some lemonade.
